Raising Ummeed, One Case At A TimeHomeOur Community EffortsCSR InitiativesProject ummeed

‘Ummeed’ means hope! Our oncology breakthroughs and new drugs are giving cancer patients with cancer new reasons to hope! However, we know that cancer care involves more than treatment.

For that reason, Pfizer set up the Ummeed programme in 2015, in collaboration with the NGO Vcare, to help patients and their caregivers get the financial assistance, accommodation, counselling and family support they need to make their treatment journey less daunting. Ummeed is a collaborative information aggregator that provides detailed information on:
  • Government schemes, NGOs, trusts, charitable organizations and hospitals that offer financial assistance
  • Support groups for cancer patients, cancer survivors and their relatives
  • Budget hotels and accommodation that are available for patients and their relatives during treatment
  • Sourcing and other available funding options
Ummeed has already supported more than 4000 patients and their families, from diagnosis to recovery. Pfizer is committed to continuing this programme so that it can benefit an even larger patient base.
