sPILL The Beans Around Contraceptives 

Oral contraceptives or OCs are a reliable option for preventing unwanted pregnancy. Most OCs contain combination of 2 types of synthetic forms of hormones, known as estrogen and progesterone.1 OCs prevent development and release of eggs from ovaries, and inhibit sperm penetration through cervix by increasing thickness of cervical mucous.

Hormonal birth control methods offer a range of benefits beyond pregnancy prevention. It helps to regulate your menstrual cycle and make your periods less painful. OCs also improve acne and unwanted hair growth, a major health concern of young women.3

There are a number of misconceptions that women have on oral contraception. Through this slideshow below, we help address some of these misconceptions.
